Hello Rohit, welcome to LearnWoo! Rohit, you’ve had a diverse background. What sparked your interest in starting Qwaiting, and how did your early career experiences shape your entrepreneurial journey?

Hello! I am Rohit Garg, Founder of Qwaiting. I began my career in the IT field and it has exposed me to the power of technology in solving everyday problems. My background has taught me lessons in problem-solving, customer needs, and technology integration. 

This sparked my interest in the idea of Qwaiting, a cloud-based system to manage customer queues. These experiences have shaped my entrepreneurial journey in creating practical solutions and understanding market demands. Thus, my IT field has helped me improve efficiency and customer experience through technological solutions, Qwaiting.

How did you identify the need for a queue management system, and what were the first steps you took to bring Qwaiting to life?

So, it was when I and one of my close friends went out for dinner at a famous restaurant. There we noticed people’s long waiting lines for table reservations. We had to wait for long hours. This wasted a lot of time which made me frustrated. That was when I felt the need for a queue management system.

This motivated me to develop a cloud-based system that manages queues better and reduces customers’ wait time. During my journey, first I meet different business owners to learn about their experiences and problems with managing long queues. I researched, studied, and worked hard to bring Qwaiting to life.

Qwaiting has a clear focus on automating and optimizing waiting lines. What were the biggest hurdles you faced in bringing this solution to market? How did you overcome them, especially in the early stages of your startup?

Indeed, the main focus of Qwaiting is to automate and optimize the long waiting lines but I faced multiple challenges in bringing this solution to the market. Following are a few of those challenges.

  • Educating people about the benefits and necessity of a queue management system
  • Convincing people to switch from traditional methods to digital systems.
  • Training staff
  • Set budget-friendly pricing.
  • Stand ahead of the competition.

Though my journey was filled with multiple hurdles, I found success with dedication and determination. Still, I regularly ask customers’ and my employees’ reviews for continuous improvement.

Yes, Qwaiting offers a range of queue management solutions that differentiate it from other ordinary systems in the market. Following are a few of Qwaiting’s powerful solutions.

  • Easy-to-use Interface: Qwaiting is easy to use and has clear icons that make the navigation so smoother. It is suitable to every business type and requires no technical knowledge to use.
  • Online Appointment Booking: Our software provides an online appointment booking feature where clients can book appointments online. They can also select the date & time of the booking slot from Android or iOS mobile devices. This reduces booking errors like double bookings.
  • Automatic Booking Reminders: Qwaiting sends automatic booking reminders to customers a few days before the booking date. This helps them remember the booking details and reduce no-shows.
  • Real-time Queue Notification: Our software shares real-time queue updates with the staff members on their dashboards. They can check the problematic areas and make changes accordingly. Also, it shares live updates with customers regarding their average waiting time, the number of customers ahead, and changes in the queues. This results in the smooth running of operations and improves customers’ experience.
  • Centralizes Customer Data: Qwaiting provides you with a centralized database to save important customer and business data. This helps staff members to find it easy when they need it and saves them time.
  • Customer Feedback: Our software provides a customer feedback system where customers can share their experience, and give suggestions. The owner can check these reviews and make informed decisions.

What are some of the valuable lessons you’ve learned from your initial customer interactions? How are you using customer feedback to improve the product and expand your client base?

During my journey of Qwaiting, I interacted with countless customers and learned several valuable lessons. Following are the examples of some.

  • Different customers have unique needs & requirements. It is important to provide them with personalized experiences to improve their experience.
  • Clear and transparent communication is essential to make a strong bond with customers.
  • Customers always want simple and easy-to-use software. The more you complex the features, the more they feel confused and move to other systems.
  • Customer feedback is important. Ask them about their problems and make improvements.

Indeed, one of the best ways to improve the product and client base is by asking their feedback. I listen to my client’s needs and understand their pain points. Later make decisions that help them overcome problems and improve their experience. 

For example: one customer mentioned that they feel frustrated with long wait times during peak hours. So, we introduced a feature through which customers can check their wait time and join the queue when it’s their turn. This approach makes customers feel that we value their time and opinion, which increases the client base.

You’ve successfully built and scaled Qwaiting. What are the top 3 pieces of advice you would give to aspiring entrepreneurs who are just starting out? 

In my journey of entrepreneurship, developing Qwaiting. I have learned various important lessons. These are the top 3 pieces of advice I would give new start-up entrepreneurs.

  • Listen to your customers and make a good first impression. This will improve your image, boost loyalty, and attract new customers.
  • Educate yourself and stay updated with the new trends, and techniques that come in the market.
  • Always strive to deliver high value and quality in your product or service. 

What are your thoughts on the role of mentorship and support systems in navigating the challenges of running a startup? Did you have any mentors or advisors who played a significant role in your journey?

Mentors and support systems are really helpful especially when you are starting a startup. They give you valuable advice, share their knowledge about the industry, and connect with different people to help your business grow.

Fortunately, I am blessed to have one of my closest friends as a mentor or advisor. He always helps me make smart decisions and plan for the challenges ahead.

His guidance has helped me spot growth opportunities and stay strong when things don’t go according to plan. He always helped speed up my learning and made me feel more confident. Thus, a strong support system is really important to deal with ups and downs and achieve long-term success.

The tech landscape is constantly evolving. How do you stay ahead of the curve and ensure Qwaiting remains relevant and competitive in the long term? 

As the technology landscape is growing continuously, it has become extremely important to stay competitive. Following are the ways we do it.

  • Follow industry trends, news, and tech blogs, and attend conferences. This keeps me and my team updated with the latest advancements.
  • We invest in research and development to add new features and improve our system.
  • We use the latest technologies to keep our system more modern and efficient.
  • We regularly update our system to fix any problems or issues.
  • We follow a customer-centric approach. Listen to clients’ problems and make changes to increase client satisfaction.
  • We partner with other tech companies and industry leaders. This increases our connections and provides growth opportunities.

All these factors help us stay competitive in the competitive business world.

How do you stay motivated and resilient through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship?

In my software development journey, I go through a lot of ups and downs. These below are the things I do to keep myself motivated and resilient.

  • Set Clear Goals: I set clear and achievable goals which helps me stay focused.
  • Celebrate Small Wins: We celebrate small victories. This boosts our morale and keeps us motivated during tough times.
  • Stay Positive: We try to keep my mindset and attitude positive. This helps us positively handle situations.
  • Seek Support: We rely on mentors, advisors, and a support network for guidance and encouragement.
  • Take Care of Yourself: We try to manage stress by exercising and taking short breaks to stay refreshed.

Looking forward, what are your long-term goals for Qwaiting? What are your plans for scaling the business and expanding into new markets?

Our Qwaiting’s long-term goal is to expand into new markets and improve our product. We plan to reach a wider audience and explore international markets. Next, we will update our system with more new features and the latest technology.

We are building partnerships with various other companies to grow our network and presence. Last but not least we want to focus more on customer feedback to provide excellent customer experience. These steps will help us scale Qwaiting and achieve long-term success.
