Goods transported by water, air, or land are referred to as cargo. In the language of economics, freight refers to goods that is transported for profit at a freight rate. Originally referring to a shipload, the term “cargo” is today used to refer to all forms of freight, including those transported by rail, van, vehicle, or intermodal container.
