Cart abandonment is one of the biggest challenges faced by an online store. People visit your store, browse through your products, move some items to the cart and simply leave the site without proceeding further.
The cart may or may not get recovered by the customers. Most of the cart abandonment occurs without any reason.
Cart abandonment seems to be getting increased day by day. The abandoned cart recovery statistics say that over 75% of people abandon their shopping carts without proceeding with it. You may never know why a person abandons the cart but you can make assumptions.
For this, many organizations conducted a survey and have identified some of the common reasons for cart abandonment.
The reasons are as follows:
- Extra cost too high
- Need to create an account
- Long or complex checkout process
- Can’t see the total cost
- Site not trustworthy
- Website errors or crashes
- Delivery too slow
- Complicated Return Policy
- Lack of payment methods
- Card declined
