Yukihiro Matsumoto developed Ruby, an open-source object-oriented scripting language, in the middle of the 1990s. A scripting language does not interact directly with hardware, unlike languages like C and C++. It is entered into a text file, parsed by an interpreter, and converted to code. Most of these programmes are procedural in nature, which means that you read them from top to bottom.
